I’ve never made a cobbler before. So when I saw a very easy strawberry cobbler recipe from here , I decided to give it a try.
It’s super simple and quick. The only thing that took most of the time is to cut the strawberries 😀
- 3 cups fresh strawberries, diced
- ½-3/4 cup sugar –> I used ½ cup only
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 cup milk
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 stick butter, melted
- Preheat oven to 375 F –> I put 180 degree Celcius
- In a medium bowl, add strawberries and ¾ cup sugar. –> I used ½ cup only
- Stir to coat strawberries in sugar and set aside.
- In a large bowl whisk together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Add in milk, vanilla extract and melted butter.
- Stir until combined. A few lumps are ok.
- Grease a 9-inch casserole dish.
- Pour batter evenly into dish.
- Spoon strawberries evenly on top of batter. Do NOT stir.
- Baked for 35-40 minutes or until golden.
- Serve warm or cold.
It was bit messy because the strawberries kept bubbling during the baking process. But it was SO GOOD !!
The crust part is definitely the best part ! 😀
Another FOTD (Food of the Day) time ! 😀
Earlier I went to Loobie for lunch. This has been my 4th visit to Loobie. It’s official that Loobie is now one of my favorite place despite the far location from my home.
I had the lobster platter which was super yummy. The platter came with calamari, butter rice, and your choice of chili. You can choose the garlic spicy chili or sambal matah. I usually ask for both 😀
Whole lobster platter
Ok, so after major dissapointment from Vanity Trove and Beauty Treats last month, I decided to try subscribe Lolabox for 1 month.
From what I read at Female Daily Forum, it seems that Lolabox has been consistent in terms of products and service. And when I checked their Facebook page, there’s a sneek peak for some brands for July box which should be interesting: JUARA and Sleek. So I was anxiously waiting for my box to come.
And this is it.
FOTD as in food of the day, not face of the day 😀
Tried this egg benedict at Cafe Batavia today and oh my, it was delish.
It came with some kind of crab cake, smoked salmon, and topped with caviar. Not the typical egg benedict, but I love it.
What I love about egg benedict is that moment when you cut through the egg and you see the runny yolk. *nom nom*
I’m drooling now just thinking about it.
My bro just got back from Japan, and he brought sooo many Japanese snack.
I finally got the chance to try the infamous Tokyo Banana, but I must say that I’m not a fan.
I like the strawberry cake from Ginza much more than the Tokyo Banana.
Oh well.. I guess it very much depends on personal preference. 😀
Another baking time !
I’ve been trying to find another easy recipe to bake, and I found this simple recipe for carrot cake here.
What you need:
1 1/4 cups vegetable oil
2 cups white sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
3 cups grated carrots
1 cup chopped pecans — pecan is pretty expensive here, so I substituted it with cashew 😀
The base is from Liolle (from one of the beauty box last month).
The crackle nail polish is from Oriflame. I think they are on sale this month, and only costs like IDR 30.000. Super cheap.
And I must say the result is not too bad. 😀
